Sullivan’s Magic Flute Diaries to Premiere at Palm Beach Film Fest

TORONTO, April 9: Sullivan
Entertainment is set to premiere Magic Flute Diaries, a contemporary adaptation of Mozart’s classic
fairytale, at the Palm Beach International Film Festival during the week of
April 10 to 17.

In addition to the
festival, the film has also been selected as a finalist for A&E’s
IndieFilms Spotlight program, which is part of a national sponsored partnership
between A&E and L’Oreal, which focuses on four film festivals a year. One
film from the festival will be featured nationally on A&E and in a
30-second televised spotlight.

Magic Flute Diaries is set against the staging of an opera in Salzburg
for the 250th celebration of Mozart’s birthday. An American singer becomes
obsessed with a mysterious Russian soprano after he is cast as the lead, and he
is soon unable to distinguish between fantasy and reality.

"The concept for Mozart's
Magic Flute
as a movie came about
as a part of a celebration of Mozart's 250th Birthday in Salzburg,” said the
film’s writer/director, Kevin Sullivan. “I wanted to create a kind of musical
set in Salzburg, that contained the best music from the opera because I wanted
to try and present the genius of Mozart in a way that made him accessible to a
contemporary (and non-opera going audience), particularly a younger audience. I
am thrilled to have Magic Flute Diaries premiere at the Palm Beach Film Festival particularly with the
enthusiasm the festival has shown for this unique film."
