New Blue-Zoo Series for Nickelodeon International

LONDON, March 28: Blue-Zoo
Productions has been commissioned by Nickelodeon International to produce a new
CGI-animated series, Stitch-Up Showdown, to premiere across the network’s 41 global channels this May.

This deal follows on
Blue-Zoo’s first series commission for Nickelodeon International in 2007 for
the BAFTA-nominated 26×3.5-minute series Those Scurvy Rascals.

The 14×1-minute episodes
of Stitch-Up Showdown are set
in an arena where daredevil sock-puppet warriors compete in a series of
challenges. Each episode will feature a different warrior facing tasks that
range from bee eating to a stare-out contest. The series is directed and
produced by Adam Shaw and Oli Hyatt at Blue-Zoo.

Hyatt, the co-founder and
head of creative at Blue-Zoo, commented: “It’s great to be working with
Nickelodeon again on our second animated series. This is a landmark achievement
for us and reflects our dedication to providing uniquely entertaining TV for
kids with a wide international appeal.”

Nina Hahn, the VP of international development for Nickelodeon, added: “We’re
thrilled to be collaborating with Blue-Zoo again on this first-ever joint
short-form production between Nickelodeon International, Nickelodeon UK and
Nickelodeon in the U.S. Stitch-Up Showdown has been made from the same recipe of heart + fart + smart that runs
through all of our programming, making it truly Nickelodeon and sure to become an instant member of
our global family and a hit with audiences around the world.”
