3DD Shores Up International Deals for Music Programming

LONDON, March 12: 3DD has
closed a series of deal with international broadcasters on a range of
documentaries and concerts featuring some of the world’s leading music artists.

Having obtained the rights
from 19 Management, 3DD has secured sales for Spice Girls—Giving You
Everything
throughout Scandinavia
with TV4 in Sweden, Norway’s TV Norge, Danmarks Radio in Denmark, MTV 3 in Finland,
and the Icelandic Television Company. Further sales include TV3 in New Zealand,
RTE in Ireland, VPRO TV in the Netherlands, Romania’s TVR, VIASAT in the Baltic
region and many others, including a raft of inflight deals. 19 Management
directly handled the sales of the documentary to BBC One in the U.K., Canada’s
CTV and CHUM TV and Australia’s Foxtel.

The documentary Respect
Yourself—The Stax Records Story
was
snapped up by the BBC in the U.K., TV3 in Spain, Rainbow in Latin America and
Viasat in Scandinavia, while Andrea Bocelli—A Child Destined To Sing was picked up by Norway’s NRK and TV2 in Denmark.

3DD also closed sales for
a selection of live artist concerts. Mariah Carey: The Adventures of Mimi was sold to RFO and MCM in France, MTV Italia, VH1
in the U.K., SABC in South Africa, DRS in Switzerland, WHD in Japan and CCTV in
China. Control Room concerts,
including Rihanna: Live From Montreal, received pick ups from VH1 in the U.K., South Africa’s SABC, MTV
Italia, Spain’s Sogecable, RFO and NRJ 12 in France and Musique Plus in Canada,
among others.

Lara von Ahlefeldt, the
COO and director of programs and acquisitions for 3DD, said: “Broadcasters
