ZDF Hails Successful Year

MAINZ, February 13:
Germany’s ZDF Enterprises says it racked up a record number of program sales in
2007, marking the third straight year that the company’s program sales have
established a new milestone.

ZDF’s top-selling programs
included the telenovela Julia—Paths to Happiness; the family series Here Comes Kalle; the youth-targeted live-action series H2O—Just
Add Water
; crime series such as The
Criminalist
and Siska; and the documentaries Update—The World
in 50 Years
, The Forbidden City and The Great Wall.

During 2007, ZDF’s
programming proved to be the most popular in France, Italy, Austria,
Switzerland, Central and Eastern Europe, Spain, the U.S. and the U.K.
Programming was licensed to broadcasters such as RAI, Mediaset, TF1, France Télévisions,
Nickelodeon, Jetix, Antena 3, National Geographic, The History Channel,
Discovery and Premiere.

Christian Massmann, ZDF
Enterprises’ head of sales, commented: “There are several reasons for these
outstanding results. We have a top quality, wide-ranging program portfolio, we
provide our clients and partners with excellent customer service, and we are
moving ahead rapidly with our digital strategy, including all-media rollouts
and new partnerships in the area of video on demand. At the same time, we are
continuing to extend the basis of our classic, core business with sales of TV
and DVD rights, while also developing the utilization of properties for digital
platforms.”
