TORONTO, February 11: CCI Entertainment and Scholastic Media
have closed pre-sales for the animated series Turbo Dogs to CBC in Canada and qubo in the U.S.

The series, based on the book Racer Dogs by illustrator Bob Kolar, is aimed at children aged 4
to 7. Using 3-D animation, Turbo Dogs features the antics of a wacky, dog-filled community that is wild about
racing. The Turbo Dogs team has
also announced new co-producers, New Zealand’s Huhu Studios (Buzz and
Poppy, Littlebrook Farm
).

“We are thrilled to be including Turbo Dogs in our kids’ CBC lineup,” said Kim Wilson, the
creative head of CBC’s children and youth programming. “We had been actively
searching for a high-end racing property that would appeal to both boys and
girls, and when Turbo Dogs jumped
in our laps, we knew the search was over! The combination of humor, action,
unique canine personalities and important life lessons makes this show a sure
winner. We are also excited about the GPS (Global Paws System) that is included
in each racecar, and that will guide our viewers through the adventures while
exposing them to key numeracy concepts such as direction, distance and time.”

“qubo is delighted to make way for Turbo Dogs on our fall schedule,” said Rick Rodriguez, qubo’s
president and general manager. “Scholastic and the rest of the Turbo
Dogs
production team have gone above and
beyond to deliver a show with broad commercial appeal that also provides the
rich educational and pro-social values that our audience has come to expect.”
