Rainbow Media’s Frankel Joins The Weinstein Company

NEW YORK, November 13: The
Weinstein Company has named Matthew Frankel, previously with Rainbow Media
Holdings, to the newly created role of chief communications officer and senior
VP of corporate affairs.

In his new role, effective
November 26, Frankel will manage The Weinstein Company’s corporate profile and
communications strategies and oversee the boutique multimedia company’s
corporate, trade and business press. Frankel will be based in The Weinstein
Company’s New York office and will report to cochairmen Bob and Harvey Weinstein.

Prior to his new
appointment, Frankel was the VP of corporate communications at Rainbow Media
Holdings.

Sarah Levinson Rothman,
who has been the head of corporate communications at The Weinstein Company
since its inception, will transition into serving as a consultant for the
company and as an advisor to Bob and Harvey Weinstein. She will step down from
her role as the VP of corporate communications.

Julie Cloutier will
continue to serve in her role as the director of corporate communications,
focusing on media relations for the company. She joined Miramax in 2004 and
moved with the Weinsteins to The Weinstein Company when the company launched in
2005.
