SingTel’s mio TV Launches Tamil Movie Channel

SINGAPORE, November 7: SingTel’s new pay-TV service mio TV
has launched Tamil Box Office (TBO), a 24-hour channel offering Tamil-language
movies from India.

The channel became available this week and costs S$8.56 per
month on a month-by-month basis, or S$6.42 per month when committing to a
twelve-month plan. The prices are based on a-la-carte fees and are inclusive of
the GST. Hundreds of movies will be available each month on the channel, which
will also feature locally produced entertainment shows.

The channel’s programming blocks include TBO Noon, for classic Tamil films from the 70s, such as Aalaya
Deepam
and Kudumbum Oru Koyil; TBO Matinee, featuring nostalgic hits from the 80s, including Thudikum
Karangal
, Darling Darling Darling and Soorasasamharam; TBO Mega Movie, a selection of recent blockbusters, including Veerappu and Thiruvilayadal Arambam; TBO Hit Movie, featuring contemporary hit films from a variety of genres; TBO
Star
, which features star interviews and
talk shows; and Hello TBO, an
hour-long interactive song-request program, hosted by local celebrities.

one channel at an extremely affordable price. Catering to our customers’
growing appetite for variety is top priority here at SingTel and we are also
excited that we are able to launch this channel just in time for the Deepavali
festive holidays.”
