Lifetime, Starz Media in International Co-Production Deal

LOS ANGELES, October 15: Lifetime Networks has reached a
deal with Starz Media to co-produce three original TV movies—True
Confessions of a Hollywood Starlet
, Queen
Sized
, and Wisegal—featuring high profile casts that include
Alyssa Milano and multiplatinum recording artist JoJo.

The three movies are slated to air on Lifetime in 2008. This
is Lifetime's second major international co-production deal, following the April
announcement of its partnership with TF1 International to produce and
distribute three original television movies for worldwide release. For Starz
Media, the deal with Lifetime is a continuation of the new studio's expansion
into prime-time movies, and joins its roster of production partners, which
already includes ABC, SCI FI Channel, Cartoon Network, BET and Starz
Entertainment, among others.

Starz Media will handle the worldwide distribution of the
titles, including home entertainment through its Anchor Bay Entertainment.

True Confessions of a Hollywood Starlet stars multiplatinum recording artist JoJo (RV, Aquamarine) and Golden Globe Award-winning actress Valerie Bertinelli (One
Day at a Time
, Touched By An
Angel
). Based on a novel of the same name
by Lola Douglas, the movie chronicles the story of a superstar teen actress
whose life is turned upside down when she is sent to live incognito with her
aunt in the suburbs after a stint in rehab and must adjust to life out of the
spotlight. Produced by Barbara Lieberman Productions, the movie will be
directed by Tim Matheson (Lifetime's Augusta, Gone).

Actress Nikki Blonsky, who played a leading role in the
movie Hairspray, will star in Queen
Sized
, the true story of an overweight high
school senior who takes a stand against bullying to become her school's
homecoming queen, and ends up with much more than just a crown. Produced by Von
Zerneck-Sertner Films, Queen Sized
will premiere on Saturday, January 5, 2008, at 9 p.m. on Lifetime.

Wisegal, starring
Alyssa Milano (Charmed, Who's
the Boss?)
and Jason Gedrick (Desperate
Housewives
, Windfall) is a drama inspired by the true story of Patty
Montanari, a woman who became a trusted confidant to the mafia, only to
confront the reality that her romantic entanglement put her children in
jeopardy. The movie is produced by Daniel H. Blatt Productions.

"This is a truly innovative deal that has tremendous
value for Lifetime and Starz,” said Susanne Daniels, the president of
entertainment for Lifetime Networks. “We hope to be making more deals like this
in the future."
