Five Unveils Fall Highlights

LONDON, August 24: Five has revealed its fall programming
schedule, which is set to include a range of factual entertainment and
documentaries along with the debut of the U.S. comedy drama Californication, starring David Duchovny.

Headlining Five’s slate of factual programming is the new
crime show Street Crime Live, presented
by investigative journalist Donal MacIntyre, who takes a close look at the
crimes plaguing Britain’s neighborhoods and reveals the latest in crime
prevention and crime-solving CSI technology. Factual entertainment series like My
Body Hell are also on the schedule, which
gets to the heart of women’s body issues. Other series include Serial
Brides, about women who love the wedding
more than the marriage; Sweaty Betty, which tackles extreme sweating; and How to Have Sex After
Marriage, exploring the modern problem of
stressed-out spouses who are too tired for love.

In terms of acquired programming, Five will offer the
exclusive premiere of Californication, which
stars David Duchovny as a troubled novelist named Hank Moody with a catalogue
of self-destructive behavior. Other U.S. acquisitions on Five’s fall lineup are
the comedy 30 Rock, starring Alec
Baldwin as brash TV executive Jack Donaghy, and returning series like CSI,
Law & Order: SVU, and Dirt, starring Courteney Cox.

Five will also debut the new comedy series Angelo’s, from Pulling writer Sharon Horgan, and the second season of the comedy Suburban
Shootout, starring Anna Chancellor.

Banged Up Abroad 2
returns with four more harrowing stories about young travelers whose dream
trips turn into a living nightmare, along with MacIntyre’s Underworld, which
offers rare access into the heart of organized crime in Britain. Also returning
this fall are the critically acclaimed series Extraordinary People, featuring moving stories about people overcoming
physical obstacles, and Revealed,
which looks at seven famous subjects and uncovers new elements of well-known
historical stories in each program.

This fall, Five’s lineup will also include weekly Italian
football matches throughout the season, presented by Mark Chapman and Laura
Esposta. Five will also be broadcasting live matches from the UEFA Cup again,
and will also follow David Beckham during his first season playing for the Los
Angeles Galaxy.

Five’s new schedule will also feature a range of children’s
programming such as the documentary Big School, the animated series Roary the Racing Car and the return of daytime programs like Wright
Stuff and Trisha Goddard.
