Distraction Inks New European Deals

LONDON, August 16: Distraction has secured a number of new
deals for its reality formats and completed productions in Sweden, France and
Poland.

TV4 Sweden has picked up three seasons of the family
entertainment ready-to-air format StripSearch. These three seasons include one from the U.S., one from New Zealand
and one from Australia. Originally produced by Screentime Group, the format
follows the transformation of a group of ordinary young men into a professional
male revue. Contestants undergo a complete metamorphosis as choreographers,
costume designers, boot-camp trainers and beauticians help them prepare for
their first live stage performance.

Distraction has also licensed the prime-time reality
“emotainment” format Pass It On to
Magnolia in France. Originally broadcast on TQS in Canada, Pass It On has seen consistently strong ratings of over 35
percent, winning most of the time slots over the recent years. The format
follows the story of one member of the public helping out another in an act of
kindness that will change that person’s life. In each episode, the host and her
team meet two people who will have to pass on the deed for two more
people—in this way, the chain of charity continues.

The reality comedy format Kenny vs Spenny has been sold to Polskie Media in Poland for
broadcast on TV4. The format has been sold into more than 10 territories. Kenny
vs Spenny
revolves around the relationship
and rivalry between two lifelong friends who perform outrageous challenges in
the course of each episode.
