USA Announces Pickup of Action Comedy, Unveils Development Slate

LOS ANGELES, July 16: USA Network has announced the series
pickup of a new action comedy with the working title To Love & Die, as well as the slate of projects in development for
2008.

To Love & Die
stars Shiri Appleby, formerly of Six Degrees and Roswell, and is produced by Lorne Michaels’ Broadway Video Television in
association with Universal Media Studios.

The series, consisting of 12 episodes, is slated for launch
in 2008. To Love & Die centers on a
sassy young woman named Hildy, played by Appleby, who has intimacy issues and
is convinced that her dating problems will be resolved if she can track down

for her father's line of work. Other characters in the new series include
Hildy's intrusive mother, played by Frances Fisher (Titanic, Laws of
Attraction
), Hildy’s older sister Nancy,
played by Kristin Dattilo (Courting Alex) and Eddie, a key member of Matheson's contracting organization,
played by Christine Adams. Ivan Sergei co-stars in the pilot as Hildy's
father's protégé. Sara Goodman is the creator and executive producer along with
Carla Kettner and JoAnn Alfano as executive producers and Andrew Singer as
producer.

The network’s development slate includes Halo, about a less-than-heavenly average Joe who wakes up
one morning with a halo over his head, from Fox TV Studios; and The
Expert
, from Universal Media Studios and
DreamWorks, about a reclusive librarian with a unique condition called
synesthesia who works with the police squad to aid in their investigations.

Furthermore, USA Network announced that it has ordered seven
episodes of Dr. Steve-O, a reality
program starring Jackass alum Steve-O. Produced by Bunim/Murray Productions, it
is set to debut Monday, October 1.
