The History Channel Expands its Distribution in the Netherlands

NEW YORK/LONDON/AMSTERDAM,
June 8: The History Channel has secured its second platform launch in the territory
on CAIW’s Delight Tier, thereby extending its reach in the Netherlands.

The distribution deal with
CAIW was secured by The History Channel U.K., a joint venture between A&E
Television Networks (AETN) and BSkyB. The launch of The History Channel on CAIW
follows the recent debut of the network on cable operator UPC in the
Netherlands on May 30, and the premiere of the channel in Belgium on Telenet on
May 1.

our launches on Telenet and UPC,” said Ian McDonough, the commercial director
of The History Channel U.K. “The Benelux is a very competitive market for
television and it is a great testament to the high quality factual content and
