Adult Swim Unveils New Slate, Adds Seventh Night of Programming

NEW YORK, April 27: At its Upfront presentation, Cartoon
Network’s late-night programming block, Adult Swim, announced plans to add a
seventh night of programming, and introduced a lineup of new series such as Fat Guy Stuck In Internet, Lucy, the Daughter of the Devil and Superjail
alongside additional episodes or new seasons of Aqua Teen Hunger Force and The Boondocks,
among others.

In the live-action comedy Fat Guy Stuck In Internet, hotshot programmer Ken Gemberling is accidentally
sucked into the Internet, where he must struggle to unravel the mysteries of
this strange, new land and his own destiny. Created by John Gemberling and
Curtis Gwinn, the series was originally a cult hit on the Internet and
premieres this fall. The previously announced series Lucy, the Daughter of the Devil is set for a debut this summer. It is centered on Lucy, the
daughter of Satan, who lives in San Francisco and is dating a new guy who
might just be the Second Coming. However her meddlesome father is using her relationship
as an excuse to hasten the apocalypse. Superjail, created by Christy Karacas, Stephen Warbrick and Ben Gruber, is
scheduled for launch in 2008. The series revolves around the most violent
prison complex in the universe, and features dangerous criminals, fantastic
creatures, bizarre contraptions and frequent riots.

In addition to the three new series, the third season of the
stop-motion sketch comedy Robot Chicken, co-created
by Seth Green and Matthew Senreich, along with a Star Wars special tied to the series featuring the voice of Star
Wars
creator George Lucas, will premiere
this summer. The new season of Frisky Dingo, about a super-villain named Killface, is also
scheduled for a summer premiere.

In the fall, Aaron McGruder’s critically acclaimed and
award-winning series The Boondocks will
also return for a second season. This fall will also see new episodes of: The
Venture Bros.,
about Dr. Venture, a former
child prodigy who becomes a failed scientist and father of two twins; the
animated comedy Metalocalypse, about
the world’s most popular heavy metal band; and Squidbillies, about redneck squids in the north Georgia
mountains.

In 2008, other ongoing series will also return to Adult
Swim, including the hit Aqua Teen Hunger Force, created by Matt Maiellaro and Dave Willis and featuring three
human-sized food products named Meatwad, Frylock and Master Shake; Assy
McGee
, about a toothpick chomping cop
sniper; and the series Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law. The 15-minute sketch variety show Tim and
Eric Awesome Show, Great Job

starring the comedy duo Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim—has also been
picked up for a second season.
