NHNZ’s The Most Extreme Scores Season Five on Animal Planet

DUNEDIN, January 26: The fifth season of NHNZ’s The
Most Extreme is set to begin airing on
Animal Planet in the U.S. this April.

The show, which this season introduces new topics such as
“Animal Inventors” and “Nature’s Medics”, has been one of Animal Planet’s
highest-rated shows since its launch in 2002.

The show counts down the ten
most extreme animals for any given behavior. The journey to find answers mixes
history, natural history, science and trivia.

NHNZ’s managing director,
Michael Stedman, commented, “The Most
Extreme was one of the first and best
examples of the new way of telling wildlife stories to the modern television
audience. Before The Most Extreme,
most wildlife shows were slow and academic; they were full of great
information, but were not well suited to the cable television environment. The
Most Extreme came along and changed all
that: this was wildlife television for the MTV generation.”
