ProSiebenSat.1 Invests in Online Community

MUNICH, October 18: ProSiebenSat.1
Group has acquired a 30-percent stake in Lokalisten media, which operates
Lokalisten.de, a leading social-networking site in Germany that has about
325,000 members.

The deal follows the German
broadcasting group’s September acquisition of the user-generated-content site
MyVideo.

“Lokalisten.de means the
ProSiebenSat.1 Group now has a service for the MySpace generation,” said
ProSiebenSat.1’s CEO, Guillaume de Posch. “The social network is an excellent
addition to our online world. Internet communities reconcile two opposites:
they generate the same user figures as mass media, while their pattern of use
is individual and interactive. That’s what makes them attractive for a content
provider such as the ProSiebenSat.1 Group.”
