Disney Pulls Channels from YouTube TV

The Walt Disney Company has pulled its channels, including ESPN, Disney Channel, National Geographic and FX, from YouTube TV after the two failed to come to terms on a new carriage deal.

The channels were removed around 11:15 p.m. on October 30 prior to the official expiration of the current distribution agreement at midnight.

In a statement on social media, YouTube TV said, “Despite our best efforts, we have not been able to reach a fair deal, and starting today, Disney programming will not be available on YouTube TV. This means you will no longer be able to watch channels like ABC and ESPN or access recordings from these networks in your library.”

If Disney’s content remains unavailable for “an extended period of time,” YouTube TV previously said it would offer subscribers a $20 credit.
