STUDIOCANAL Promotes for Production Financing & U.S. Film Sales Role

STUDIOCANAL has promoted Aska Yamaguchi to senior VP of worldwide TV production financing and U.S. film sales.

“I’m thrilled to take on this new role at STUDIOCANAL at such an exciting point in its evolution,” said Yamaguchi. “The company has a rich legacy of supporting visionary filmmakers and series creators across borders. I look forward to furthering that mission by championing ambitious, globally minded stories and forging meaningful partnerships that resonate with audiences everywhere.”

In this newly created role, Yamaguchi will lead the financing strategy while continuing to oversee U.S. film sales alongside Chloé Marquet, working across both the company’s film and television divisions. She will be based in Paris and will report to Anne Chérel, chief commercial officer of STUDIOCANAL.

“Aska Yamaguchi’s promotion marks a significant step in STUDIOCANAL’s ongoing global growth,” said Chérel. “She combines deep market expertise with a passion for bold storytelling and a track record of cultivating world-class business partnerships. Her leadership will be key as we expand our co-production ambitions.”

Yamaguchi will be responsible for structuring and collaborating on partnerships with broadcasters and platforms, primarily on STUDIOCANAL’s recently launched English-language in-house TV productions.

Yamaguchi relocated to Paris in 2015 from LA to join STUDIOCANAL, where she has held various senior executive roles. Her credits include international titles that premiered at Sundance, Berlin, Cannes and Toronto, including Paddington and We Live in Time.
