EndemolShine Boomdog Expands into Colombia

The Mexico City-based production label EndemolShine Boomdog, part of Banijay Americas, has expanded into Colombia.

“Launching our production efforts into Colombia with our colleagues at Banijay Americas creates a strong opportunity to engage with one of Latin America’s most vibrant markets,” said Alejandro Rincón, EndemolShine Boomdog CEO. “Colombian audiences are hungry for high-quality, original content and our team at EndemolShine Boomdog is well-positioned to deliver stories that resonate and perform.”

EndemolShine Boomdog has more than 1,000 hours of original content with hit series like La Casa de los Famosos and Como Agua Para Chocolate (Like Water For Chocolate). It will now begin producing both scripted and unscripted original content in Colombia.

“Alejandro and the team at EndemolShine Boomdog have spent the last decade successfully producing many of Mexico’s most popular series,” said Ben Samek, CEO of Banijay Americas. “Having already reached into broader Latin American audiences, Colombia is a natural next step, and with unmatched experience in delivering original multi-genre content, we’re confident they’ll create new hits for millions of viewers in the market.”

“The Colombian TV marketplace has become one of the most important in all of Latin America, and this expansion builds on the strong format sales foundation established by Banijay Rights,” said Laurens Drillich, President, EndemolShine Latino. “With Endemol Shine Boomdog’s move into local production, we are not starting from scratch and are now in a great position to combine Banijay’s deep catalogue with the production expertise of Alejandro and his team.”
