ITN Productions Launches Digital Division

As it marks its 70th anniversary, ITN has embarked on an expansion of its content division, with ITN Productions launching a new digital segment and bolstering its international team.

The creation of a digital division at ITN Productions sees the company recruiting for a director of digital to expand its short-form and YouTube activities. The aim is to build out ITN’s direct-to-consumer strategy, building creator partnerships and new content across entertainment, crime, royals and more, using the company’s extensive archive.

Further, Chris Broughall has been named deputy head of international. The Renowned Films alum joins in November to help drive growth in global markets, particularly the U.S. Further expansion of the team is planned. ITN Productions, led by Ian Rumsey as ITN’s managing director of content, is also setting up a premium label dedicated to producing content for global audiences.

“ITN has spent the past 70 years evolving and innovating, so it’s fitting to mark this milestone with bold, exciting plans,” Rumsey said. “The digital expansion is a game-changing moment for us which will help to drive our growth and embrace the future of content consumption. Along with investment in Leeds, our international team and more premium content, it will empower us with even greater creative freedom and ambition.”

Rachel Corp, CEO of ITN, said: “As ITN turns 70, we’re not just celebrating our legacy, we’re investing in our future. These changes reflect our ambition to keep growing, innovating and leading across digital, international and premium content. Last year, content produced by teams across ITN reached over 7 billion views globally, and we’re set to exceed that. We’re committed to ensuring ITN continues to thrive and plays a unique and vital role in delivering trusted, impartial news and content to audiences wherever they are and to ensuring we’re proactively engaged with the challenges and opportunities presented by generative AI.”
