Casey Bloys Named Chairman & CEO of HBO, HBO Max

Casey Bloys has been named chairman and CEO of HBO and HBO Max, after having served as chief content officer for the brands.

Bloys reports directly to Warner Bros. Discovery’s president and CEO, David Zaslav. His new role comes just three months after Bloys signed a new five-year contract at Warner Bros. Discovery.

Bloys joined HBO in 2004, serving as director of HBO independent productions. He was promoted to VP for the team the following year. In 2006, Bloys was promoted to VP of HBO Entertainment and became senior VP in 2009 and executive VP of HBO programming in 2013. He was appointed president of HBO series, late night and specials in 2016 and added HBO Max to his oversight in 2020.
