Eden Animation & Big Giggles Team Up for New Properties

UDAIPUR: India’s Eden Animation Studio has signed a strategic agreement with the U.K.’s Big Giggles to co-produce and exploit multiple animated projects for TV, home video and multiplatform licensing.

The deal with Big Giggles will see the creation of animated projects, budgeted at more than $6 million. The agreement features the series Mac & Co, Noa. and Mindi the Mermaid. Mac & Co and Noa. are both 3D CGI animated series. Currently, talks with broadcasters, distribution, licensing and merchandising partners are in progress for the properties.

Cindy Edwards, the managing director of Big Giggles, said, “It’s fantastic that Eden Animation has recognized the huge potential that our unique properties offer; we’re excited by the prospect of working with such a prolific production company and look forward to an exciting partnership!”

Dinesh Jain, the chairman of Eden Animation, commented, “We are looking forward to work with Big Giggles and bring the properties on a successful journey across the world.”

In a separate announcement, Jeffrey Scott has signed on to write the script for Eden Animation Studio’s new feature-length movie The Gift of Sacred Lake, which is currently in development.

The Gift of Sacred Lake is a romantic comedy set in ancient Europe, expected to be approximately 90 minutes long and made in 3D stereoscopic animation. Script writer Jeffrey Scott has received three Emmys and the Humanitas Prize, having written more than 700 scripts for Hanna-Barbera, Marvel, Disney, Warner Bros., Universal, Columbia and Paramount. The pre-production for the project will be done in Europe and voice recording will be done in the U.S. Eden is currently looking for a post-production partner.
