LONDON: A+E Networks UK has appointed Anna Priest, a former BBC exec, as its new VP of marketing and communications.

Priest will report to Tom Davidson, the managing director of A+E Networks UK, and will be responsible for the marketing and communications strategy for channel brands and programming across all channels in the U.K. and Ireland, Sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East, Benelux, Scandinavia and Central and Eastern Europe.

Priest previously served as the head of marketing, superbrands and portfolio at the BBC, where she was responsible for developing brand strategies and marketing plans for the overall BBC TV portfolio, as well as Doctor Who, Strictly Come Dancing and Top Gear.

Davidson said: "We are thrilled that Anna is joining us at an incredibly exciting time for A+E Networks UK. We have a strong channel portfolio and HISTORY is our star performer with peak time audiences doubling compared to this time last year. We know from our ratings that we have great content and our aim is to increase reach and attract new audiences to all of our channels. Anna’s experience and success at the BBC building superbrands and creating brand awareness with young audiences makes her perfect for this role.”
