Richard Li Honored at CASBAA

HONG KONG: Richard Li received the Lifetime Achievement Award at CASBAA today for his pioneering role in the development of pay television in Asia.

"Not only was he a pioneer once, he was a pioneer twice," said Marcel Fenez, CASBAA’s chairman. "Richard Li was the visionary who started Star TV. Once he had done that he created the forerunner of IPTV globally, now TV."

Accepting his award, Li said, "This is an exciting era for our industry. Asia has a global importance that has not been seen for centuries."
