TORONTO: Particle physicist and TV presenter Brian Cox and geneticist and broadcaster Steve Jones are set to speak at the 19th annual World Congress of Science and Factual Producers (WCSFP) in Paris, which takes place from November 29 to December 2.

Cox and Jones will share insights into how well science programs present information on television during the session Can You Trust TV Science?, which questions the effectiveness of TV science at communicating complex scientific ideas. Jones recently completed a commission by BBC Trust to deliver a critical report of the BBC’s science coverage and Cox was named Best Presenter for the BBC series Wonders of the Universe and Wonders of The Solar System, voted the top science and natural history program in the U.K.’s Royal Television Society awards this year. This year’s WCSFP will also feature workshops, networking events, one-on-one pitch meetings and panels, as well as the return of commissioning editor speed dating and updates from broadcasters, distributors and funders.
