STOCKHOLM: Former ITV and Virgin Media Television exec Daniela Neumann has been appointed the VP of central programming at Viasat Broadcasting.

Neumann will fill the role as of September 1 and will report to Jakob Mejlhede, the senior VP of programming and entertainment. Most recently, Neumann served as acting controller of entertainment at ITV where she commissioned new peak time shows and oversaw brands, including I’m a Celebrity, Dancing on Ice, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? and one-off specials.

“Daniela has an amazing background in the U.K. production and broadcasting environment,” said Laurence Miall-d’Aout, the chief of staff for free-TV. “She will help us to continue to improve the quality and amount of own production across MTG’s free-to-air territories.”
