LONDON: FremantleMedia is restructuring its European and Asia-Pacific businesses, with European heads Monica Galer and Daniela Matei now reporting to COO Gary Carter, while Asia-Pacific chief Ian Hogg will report directly to CEO Tony Cohen.

The move results in the exit of Simon Spalding, regional CEO for Europe and Asia Pacific. Galer will continue to serve as CEO for Northern and Southern Europe, while Matei oversees the Nordics CEE and the Balkans as CEO, both reporting to Carter. Hogg was this week appointed as CEO for the Asia Pacific, and he now reports to Cohen.

“This new structure will better enable FremantleMedia to continue developing our business in Europe and Asia Pacific," said Cohen. "Simon Spalding has played a significant role in structuring, building and expanding our businesses in these regions over the last six years. In Australia, India and China he oversaw major growth and development, as well as in Italy, the Netherlands and Denmark where he led the company’s recent acquisitions. He was also instrumental in setting up and establishing our successful licensing division ten years ago, which now forms a key part of FremantleMedia Enterprises. I would like to thank him for the valuable contribution he has made to the company, and I wish him well in his future.”
