LONDON: British movies-on-demand provider FilmFlex, a joint venture of Sony Pictures Television and The Walt Disney Company EMEA, has named Jeff Henry as its CEO.

Henry will oversee the strategy, development and management of FilmFlex, while expanding the company’s reach onto new platforms. FilmFlex recently sealed a deal to provide VOD services to Film4 On Demand, in addition to its offering on Virgin Media.

Most recently, Henry was the chief executive of ITV Consumer. Previously, he was chief executive at Hallmark Channel for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

"The Board of Directors is delighted that Jeff is bringing his extensive broadcasting and VOD industry expertise to our team,” said Chiara Cipriani, the chairman of FilmFlex. “We expect him to play a vital role in growing our revenues and expanding FilmFlex beyond its current platforms, content propositions, devices and territories."

"FilmFlex is highly regarded within the industry for its forward thinking and impressive growth," Henry commented. "I join the company and its talented people with great excitement and aim to use my experience to expand FilmFlex’s leading position into new platforms and new markets."
