Sparks Adds New Member Companies

STOCKHOLM/MUNICH/CAPE TOWN: Fireball SEM from South Africa and south&browse of Germany are the latest members to join the Sparks Network group of companies.

Fireball SEM is Sparks’ exclusive member for the sub-Saharan Africa territory. The indie TV and digital production outfit has a number of in-house developed formats that will be launched through Sparks this fall. The South African-based production arm of the company has produced local versions of formats from FremantleMedia and Endemol, among others. "Sparks is the perfect global partner for Fireball SEM and has a unique organization and business model to launch our exciting formats and series globally," said Shaun Ascough, co-founder of Fireball SEM.

From Germany, south&browse has a slew of in-house formats to bring to the Sparks fold. Its credits include docu-entertainment formats such as The Model and the Freak, and science and society formats as well. "south&browse is a development-driven production company and Sparks is a good next step for our company to build a global presence to develop new innovative formats together with the other member companies," commented Tom Gamlich, the CEO of south&browse.
