LONDON/LAS VEGAS: DCD Publishing has tapped Lawless Entertainment as the licensing agent for its brand Puppy Love in the U.S. and Japan.

Puppy Love comes from a partnership between Chrysalis Music, Posh Paws, Universal Music, Big Ideas and DCD Publishing. The Puppy Love products sing the original iconic hit Puppy Love, written by Paul Anka and sung by Donny Osmond. The first Puppy Love book, A Puppy Christmas, will be available in October, published by Blue Sky Books. Zeon, formerly Wesco, is on board for puppy plush alarm clocks, bags and watches. Absolute Garment has licensed the rights for clothing. Posh Paws is doing a range of plush puppies.

“Lawless Entertainment has developed multi-million-dollar licensing programs for Suzy’s Zoo in these territories and we are very pleased to partner with them on Puppy Love,” said Michael Gottlieb, the head of licensing and music merchandising at DCD Publishing.

“We are absolutely thrilled and honored to be working on this wonderful brand with the folks at DCD Publishing,” added Cathy Malatesta, the president of Lawless Entertainment.
