OWN Celebrates Finale of The Oprah Winfrey Show

LOS ANGELES: OWN is taking an hour from its regularly scheduled programming today, May 25, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., to direct viewers to watch the final episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show.

The network has also lined up six days of special Oprah programming, starting today through Memorial Day weekend. Today on OWN, The Gayle King Show presents a "Best of Oprah Winfrey" episode, followed by Oprah Presents Master Class, with a two-part installment on Oprah herself. On May 26, The Gayle King Show: Oprah Finale After Party airs live from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. In the evening, from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m., an Oprah Behind the Scenes Special Edition is slated, followed by an encore of The Gayle King Show: Oprah Finale After Party.

The programming event continues this weekend, with Friday’s airing of Season 25: Oprah Behind the Scenes "After Oscar Show." Saturday’s lineup includes the premiere of Oprah Winfrey Presents: Before Women Had Wings, while Sunday sees the premiere of Oprah Winfrey Presents: David & Lisa, as well as an all-new Season 25: Oprah Behind the Scenes, featuring Chris Rock. Monday includes a number of episodes from Season 25: Oprah Behind the Scenes.

Coming in September, 60 episodes of Oprah’s Encore join OWN. The series combines memorable Oprah shows with new insights and interviews. The brand-new show Oprah’s Next Chapter will launch on OWN in January 2012.
