ION Media Appoints VP of Production

NEW YORK: ION Media Networks has named Lauren Gellert as VP of production and development.

Gellert will be responsible for ION Television’s content activities, including managing the production of new originals. Prior to joining ION, Gellert was senior VP for Zodiak USA, where she oversaw the New York office’s development and production efforts, as well as served as executive producer for a range of unscripted cable network series and specials.

John Ford, ION’s president of programming, said of the appointment: "Lauren’s seasoned experience in scripted and unscripted content brings a whole new creative perspective to ION, and I’m delighted to have her heading up original development and production for us. As ION amps up its content in the coming months, Lauren’s expertise, relationships and understanding of the industry will be tremendous assets in the growth of our television franchise."
