NEW YORK: Robert "Boston Rob" Mariano, a former contestant on Survivor and The Amazing Race, and Dennis Anderson, the creator of the monster truck Gravedigger, are hosting the new series Around the World in 80 Ways, a ten-parter launching later this year on HISTORY.

The show, produced for HISTORY by Original Productions, watches as the two take on the challenge of circumnavigating the globe using 80 different modes of travel, without repeating any vehicle. The men will employ a range of transportation means, using everything from a blimp and fighter jet to an ostrich or canoe to make their way around the globe.

Boston Rob first appeared on Survivor: Marquesas in 2002. He is a four-time contestant on Survivor and a two-time competitor, along with his wife, on The Amazing Race. Anderson is a four-time Monster Jam world champion. He has won more than 3,000 races and 500 trophies over his three-decade career.

"This series captures HISTORY’s commitment to highly compelling entertainment within a historical framework," said Dirk Hoogstra, the senior VP of development and programming for HISTORY. "The dynamic between our two hosts will make for great television, while viewers can journey around the world with them to explore the ingenuity of travel in every era, throughout all stages of technological advances."
