ATLANTA: The TV, documentary and film library of Jean-Michel Cousteau’s Ocean Futures Society (OFS) is to be represented in Latin America by Castalia Communications under the signing of a new deal.

Jean-Michel, the oldest son of the legendary Jacques-Yves Cousteau, has created a library of programming through OFS that includes the six-part series People at Sea, which explores sea life, shipwrecks and Australia’s Great Barrier Reef. Also in the catalogue are My Father, Jacques Cousteau: 100, celebrating the 100th birthday of the oceanic explorer by speaking with well-known names to look at how Jacques changed the world and many lives, and The Spill and Beyond, a one-hour expose into the BP oil spill that occurred last year in the Gulf of Mexico.

“Our mission has always been to not only communicate the beauty of the ocean, but to also educate others on the necessity of protecting it,” said Jean-Michel Cousteau, the president of Ocean Futures Society. “By making our library available in Latin America, it enables us to reach a wider audience where we hope to inspire and inform more on preserving our ocean resources. We are excited about partnering with Castalia and look forward to working with them to launch our stories throughout Latin America.”

“We are delighted this deal has come together and we welcome the high-quality slate of titles of Jean-Michel Cousteau’s Ocean Futures Society to the Castalia library,” added Luis Torres-Bohl, the president of Castalia Communications. “The Cousteau name and brand is recognized and cherished by audiences around the world. Their library has universal appeal, making it a natural choice for our Latin American clients.”
