LONDON: The dance format Dancing Nation has been sold by Sony Pictures Television’s 2waytraffic to broadcasters in Brazil, Australia, Ukraine and the Philippines.

In Brazil, TV Globo is set to air its version of the format later this year. In Australia, Nine Network closed a deal for a one-hour special to air in April. Ukraine’s 1+1 commissioned 12 episodes to begin airing in the fall. TV5 in the Philippines ordered 13 episodes to launch later this year. The original format is from Ideas Del Sur. It first aired in Argentina in May 2010 on Channel 13.

Dancing Nation has become a global sensation,” said Ed Louwerse, the managing director of 2waytraffic International. “This is just one of the many SPT formats that have demonstrated an ability to successfully travel and create compelling viewing around the world.”
