Sony Movie Channel Unveils Friday, Monday Blocks

CULVER CITY: Sony Movie Channel has announced new Friday and Monday programming blocks as well as original interstitial content as it works to build a "unique and interactive entertainment destination."

Sony Pictures Television’s first U.S. multiplatform television network is currently available on DISH Network, DIRECTV and AT&T U-Verse TV. The new programming initiatives include Friday Features, launching this week, a double-feature block that kicks off with a Richard Pryor tribute with Here and Now and Live at the Sunset Strip. Upcoming pairings include The Blue Lagoon and Return to the Blue Lagoon; Memento and Pollock; and Big Fish and The Counterfeiters. Launching Monday, April 4, MANDAYS will showcase action, adventure, and comedy genres and other male-skewing movies, including 88 Minutes, Toy Soldiers and El Mariachi.

Reel 6 is a new original interstitial series that will provide first-hand accounts by filmmakers, producers, crew and executives, sharing their on-set experiences.
