French Broadcasters Partner for Rugby World Cup Rights

PARIS: TF1 has sub-licensed some of its broadcast rights to the 2011 IRB Rugby World Cup to France Télévisions and Canal+, which will air 28 out of the 48 matches.

TF1 will broadcast 20 World Cup matches live, including the key group-phase matches and two quarterfinals. The broadcasters will also have the exclusive rights to the semi-final and third-place matches and the final. It will also broadcast the opening and closing ceremonies and the trophy presentation live. The live coverage will be accompanied by special reports during news shows, a magazine series, rebroadcasts on Eurosport and a slate of online coverage.

France 2, France 3 and Canal+ will broadcast 28 matches live and exclusively, including a French team match in the group phase and two quarterfinals.
