MIPTV Lines Up Star Talent

PARIS: Among the celebrity talent set to descend on Cannes are Arnold Schwarzenegger, who will unveil his brand-new international TV project, as well as Torchwood‘s John Barrowman and Bill Pullman.

Also set to attend MIPTV are the stars of the upcoming TV event Camelot: Joseph Fiennes (Elizabeth, Shakespeare in Love), Eva Green (Kingdom of Heaven, Casino Royale) and Jamie Campbell Bower (Sweeney Todd, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Twilight New Moon). The first two episodes of Camelot, which tells of the legendary adventures of King Arthur, will be screened on April 4 at 6 p.m., followed by an exclusive Q&A session with the stars.

Shawn Doyle (Big Love, Medium, The Eleventh Hour) will also be on hand at MIPTV, to promote the new Canadian series Endgame, distributed by Endemol Worldwide Distribution. From the series Borgia—about the rise to power of the Catalan Cardinal and his clan during the Renaissance—German Oscar-nominated director Oliver Hirschbiegel (Downfall), actors John Doman (The Wire, Damages), Assumpta Serna (Matador, The Fencing Master), Andrea Sawatzki (The Experiment), Marta Gastini (The Rite, Il bene e il male), Stanley Weber, Isolda Dychauk and Mark Ryder will all attend MIPTV.

Torchwood‘s John Barrowman (Desperate Housewives, Doctor Who) and Bill Pullman (Lost Highway, Independence Day, The End of Violence) are headed to Cannes to promote the launch of the fourth season of the hit BBC series.

Jon M. Chu, the director and executive producer of the Step Up dance franchise and creator of the web series The Legion of Extraordinary Dancers, will receive the Pioneer Prize at the International Digital Emmy Awards on April 4. Beyond Distribution is bringing to Cannes the muscular men of the new series The Hunks.
