La Reina del Sur Delivers for Telemundo

MIAMI: Telemundo’s La Reina del Sur became the most-watched telenovela premiere in the network’s history, after 2.4 million viewers tuned in to its debut on February 28.

La Reina del Sur, which stars Kate del Castillo as a young innocent girl forced to transform into a tough woman in the world of drug trafficking, was number one among Spanish-language stations in New York, Miami, Houston, Chicago and Las Vegas.

The telenovela also broke records for Telemundo on mobile and digital platforms, as 30,000 unique visitors viewed exclusive teaser content, including interviews and extra scenes not seen on TV. The show’s website also generated 80,000 unique visitors and 150,000 video streams.
