U.S. Studios to Attend DISCOP Accra

LOS ANGELES/PARIS: The TV distribution divisions of all the major Hollywood studios will be on hand for the fifth edition of DISCOP Africa, which takes place in Ghana February 9 to 11, including NBC Universal, MGM, Paramount Pictures, Sony and The Walt Disney Company.

A total of 74 content suppliers are already on board, including 13 from Africa. Participants include Caracol, Discovery Communications, E! Entertainment, Globo TV, M-NET, Mediaset, MTV Networks, Telemundo, Televisa Internacional, TV Azteca, Zee Network and many others. Additionally, more than 100 Sub-Saharan acquisition companies have committed to attending. The buyers span free- and pay-TV stations, as well as a growing number of mobile networks and IPTV operators.
