LONDON: The brand-new ITV1-commissioned comedy special The Comedy Annual 2010 is to be produced by ITV Studios and Cineflix, providing a look back at top moments of the past year as presented by some of Britain’s leading comedians.

Hosted by Phillip Schofield, the hour-long special will spotlight everything from the year’s biggest feuds and the stand-out TV moments to the people who were part of tabloid fodder. Comedians set to participate include Jason Manford, John Bishop, Jenny Eclair, Mark Watson and Keith Lemon.

The comedy year in review will air on December 22 at 9 p.m. on ITV1.

Claire Zolkwer, the commissioner of entertainment for ITV, said: "Britain’s best comedians take us through the highlights of 2010 in a round up of all the things that kept a smile on our faces throughout the year."

Rob Carey, Cineflix Productions’ creative director, added: “We’re really pleased to have won such a high profile commission from ITV1. It will be the best possible way for viewers to sit back together, forget the cold, the transport chaos, budget cuts and enjoy a really good laugh.”
