Discovery Ups Intl. Production Exec

LONDON: Discovery Communications has promoted Alyson Jackson to VP of international production management, after having served in the director post since 2009.

Jackson now reports to Lee Bartlett, the executive VP of global production management, business and legal affairs. Jackson joined Discovery in 2009, and prior to this was the head of production at BBC Factual.

Of the promotion, Bartlett commented: “With Discovery’s growing focus on creating compelling local productions outside the U.S., it is even more crucial to secure leadership with the talent to drive Discovery’s mission into high-growth international markets. Alyson will have a key strategic role in further strengthening our global production management functions while focusing on rapidly increasing opportunities for local production with important initiatives like the international roll out of TLC.”
