CANNES: ITV Studios Global Entertainment has entered into an exclusive multi-year deal with BASE Productions for the worldwide rights, outside the U.S., to a slate of formats and series.

The first series as part of the new deal is BASE’s Mystery 360, which ITV Studios Global Entertainment is presenting to MIPCOM buyers. The 3×1-hour series investigates weird happenings, myths and strange phenomena using the latest scientific techniques.

Richard Life, the head of co-productions and acquisitions at ITV Studios Global Entertainment, said, “BASE has an impressive track record in creating compelling and original programming which we believe has significant, untapped international potential. We are delighted to have come to a long-term agreement with them and we’re particularly excited to launch one of their new shows in Cannes.”

Mickey Stern, the co-CEO at BASE along with John Brenkus, added, “It’s been very gratifying to see our shows reach a broader and broader audience in the U.S. with all of our network partners, and over the last several years we’ve seen an explosion in their popularity overseas as well. By joining up with a worldwide market leader like ITV Studios Global Entertainment, we can now reach the widest audience possible and grow our business worldwide.”
