Telemundo Internacional Inks Format Deal on Hit Novela

MIAMI: Telemundo Internacional has scored a multi-territory deal on its novela Where is Elisa? that will see it being adapted across Europe.

Previously versioned in Argentina and Brazil, the show originally hails from TVN Chile. It was formatted in the U.S. by Telemundo Studios as Missing.

Karina Etchison, VP of sales for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at Telemundo Internacional, said: “Missing, the highest rated telenovela in our network’s history with more than 1.6 million viewers per night, has become a milestone for Telemundo as it represents a leap of innovation and the beginning of a new generation of telenovelas. We’re very proud to have the international distribution rights of this format which is already a success in countries in Latin America, Europe and Asia."

Eyeworks has scored the rights to produce adaptations for Germany, Switzerland, Austria, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Iceland, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Sweden.
