CCI’s Artzooka! Debuts on CBC

TORONTO: CCI Entertainment’s new live-action/CGI hybrid art series Artzooka! has launched in Canada on CBC, with a presence on-air and online.

The multiplatform property made its debut on CBC on September 6, airing weekdays at 7 a.m. The experience also extends to the web. Artzooka! was in development for two years by CCI and CBC. Canadian marketing initiatives including live events in malls, theaters and galleries.

A local version of Artzooka! has been produced for Germany, and CCI is also producing Spanish and Portuguese versions. The show has also been picked up in India, Korea and Southeast Asia.

Kim Wilson, the creative head of CBC Children’s & Youth Programming, said, “Since Art Attack there just hasn’t been a really great art series that inspires kids at such a basic level and this one not only incorporates recycled materials but also incorporates new tools that kids are using such as digital cameras. We’re excited about a new generation of kids learning that art is everywhere and everyone can do it.”
