Disney Films Added to PictureBox Poland

UNIVERSAL CITY/LONDON: The movies-on-demand subscription service PictureBox has picked up a package of more than 30 films from The Walt Disney Company EMEA, including the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, to be added to its offerings in Poland.

PictureBox, which is currently available in Poland on the n platform, has acquired titles through the deal such as The Incredibles, Armageddon, National Treasure, Face/Off and Pretty Woman. The service is available for a monthly fee. Movies are refreshed on a weekly basis.

The service is wholly owned by Universal Pictures and also operates on platforms in the U.K. and Singapore, with further global expansion planned.

“The addition of Disney and Disney/Pixar titles to the PictureBox lineup further underscores our commitment to provide subscribers a robust destination for entertainment,” said Belinda Menendez, the president at NBC Universal International Television Distribution. “As PictureBox expands globally, we will continue forging new strategic alliances with content providers to enhance the brand and overall viewer experience.”
