Joe Berlinger Slated for WESTDOC Keynote

LOS ANGELES: Filmmaker Joe Berlinger has joined the WESTDOC conference’s nonfiction keynote conversation, set for September 14. 

Berlinger’s most recent documentary, Crude, is the focus of a First Amendment rights case and appeal. Berlinger will address the state of doc production and distribution and participate in a moderated Q&A session about his new film. Crude tells the story of a controversial environmental lawsuit by Ecuadorians against pollution in the Amazon. 

WESTDOC: The West Coast Reality and Documentary Conference will be held at the Doubletree Guest Suites Santa Monica from September 13 to 15. The event is co-founded by Richard Propper and Chuck Braverman.
