NEW YORK: Epix is launching its online platform, EpixHD.com, as the first broad-scale deployment of subscriber authentication to enable online viewing.

The service will be available first for Cox Communications and Mediacom Communications customers, followed by an introduction for Charter Communications in July. Epix subscribers will have access to the entire lineup of 150 HD and SD movies each month online, including the new releases Star Trek, Shutter Island, Precious and Tyler Perry’s I Can Do Bad All By Myself.

Charter, Mediacom and Cox launched the Epix channel and SVOD service in April and will be supporting the launch of EpixHD.com with marketing campaigns that include free previews in June and July.

"As we continue to define the future of multi-screen entertainment consumption, we are thrilled Epix and EpixHD.com will be universally accessible to Cox, Charter and Mediacom customers," said Mark Greenberg, the president and CEO of Epix. "We are inspired by the leadership our distribution partners have shown and impressed with their successful efforts to make subscriber entitlement operational in a matter of weeks."

"Choice for the customer; how, where and when they want to watch TV, is important. Launching Epix’ three service platforms enables Charter customers to embrace and complement how they experience video," commented Rich DiGeronimo, Charter’s VP of product management.
