LONDON: A number of new agents have been appointed worldwide to expand BabyTV’s licensing and merchandising program.

These include Paris Arabesques for France, Max Licensing for Turkey, Popcorn for Portugal, Pro Entertainment for Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay and P&L Global Network for the rest of Central and Latin America. Bright Group International (BGI) has been appointed publishing agent for several territories, including the U.K. BabyTV already has a number of product launches in the works for 2010 and is continuing to line up agents in additional territories to help develop its retail presence in 2011.

"BabyTV is a fantastic project which has the magic of emotionally involving everyone that has contact with the brand," said Alice Durand, brand manager at Popcorn Brand Activity of Portugal. "The richness of colors, the tender characters and the high-quality programs for such a delicate target makes BabyTV unique. We are very proud to be a part of such a wonderful universe."

Fanny Salazar, the head of the licensing division of P&L Global, commented, “BabyTV is a unique licensing program with beautiful and fun characters aimed at parents that are looking for special products related to a committed, and renowned brand that cares for their little ones. In Latin America we are looking for a unique selection of adequate partners to be part of this original licensing program. We are confident that the product lines that will be developed by future licensees will reflect the exceptional qualities of the channel, and will support the development of BabyTV, covering main categories and offering final consumers high-end, quality products.”

"BabyTV is a truly global brand and all the unique and award-winning content and IP broadcast on the channel is owned by BabyTV," added Ralf Kies, the L&M director for BabyTV. "We very much look forward to working with our agency partners and further expanding our consumer-products retail program across the world."
