Disney Channel UK to Air How to Be Indie

LONDON: The Walt Disney Company has picked up the live-action series How to Be Indie from DECODE Enterprises for Disney Channel UK.

Produced by Heroic Film Company, How to Be Indie is a comedic live-action series, told through the eyes of 13-year-old Indie, as she balances the traditions of her South Asian family with her Western lifestyle. Disney Channel UK has picked up 26 half-hour episodes to air over the summer.

Boel Ferguson, the general manager for Disney Channels UK and Ireland, said: ““We are delighted to be purchasing How to Be Indie to add to our growing roster of live-action series, and to be providing even more variety and entertainment for our viewers to enjoy.”

Josh Scherba, the senior VP of distribution at DECODE Enterprises, added: “Buyers are always on the lookout for fresh, funny and insightful live-action for the tween and teen age group, and How to Be Indie has proven it has international appeal.”
