New Ownership for Das Vierte

LONDON/MUNICH: The German channel Das Vierte has been sold by current owners Mini Movie International Channel to Phoenix Medien, the Munich-based subsidiary of British outfit Spirit On Media.

Launched by NBC Universal in 2005, Das Vierte reaches more than 34 million German households via satellite, cable and DTT. Phoenix Medien plans to further develop Das Vierte by investing in new, innovative content. The channel is expected to deliver revenues of 30 million euros this year. The transaction is pending regulatory approval. The purchase price was not disclosed.
